Brandon McMorries is a proud Midlander, career real estate appraiser and sales agent, father, and grandfather.

Brandon grew up in the Permian Basin and went to Midland College. At an early age, he got into the real estate business, becoming one of the youngest people in Texas to obtain a certified general real estate appraisal license at the time.

Since then, Brandon has spent more than 30 years as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and over 20 years as a Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent. He built homes as a partner at McMorries Homes, taught appraisal for eight years as an adjunct instructor at Midland College, and served multiple terms on the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation's Property Tax Consultants Advisory Council. He’s also served on many committees and two terms as a director with the Permian Basin Board of Realtors, Texas Realtors' Property Taxation Committee, and local housing and homeowners boards.

In 2019, Brandon began helping a Midland County homeowner facing the loss of her home over unresolved property valuation problems. That case, and others since, drew him into pro bono taxpayer advocacy, where he helps everyday Midland taxpayers secure fair property valuations and lower tax burdens.

Brandon believes property taxation demands fairness, equal treatment, transparency, accountability, integrity, and respect for property rights. A man of faith and a devoted father and grandfather, Brandon is running for the Midland Central Appraisal District Board of Directors because he wants Midland to remain a place where every family can build a future, confident in their property valuations, the fair and equal treatment of all taxpayers, and the integrity of their elected officials.

THE MCAD TAXPAYER REVOLUTION

  • Every taxpayer will get fair, respectful treatment.

  •  Taxpayers will get heard and get answers.

  • Appraisal Review Board hearings will be fair, independent, and accountable.

  • MCAD will show its work so every appraisal can be checked and understood.

  • Misconduct and failures will be investigated and have consequences.

  • Before going after a delinquent account or a taxpayer's property, MCAD will double-check the facts, fix mistakes, explain available protections, and do everything possible to reach the owner first.

The taxpayer is not an interruption of MCAD’s work—serving the taxpayer is the purpose of it.
